In all seriousness, it seems to me if the SHTF like we all think it will in some fashion or other, doesn't it seem logical that since the Amish people already live in secluded areas living off the land without being connected to this massive electric infrastructure, wouldn't it be a good idea for us all to just leave our fancy technologically advanced lives and become Amish? I bet they survive better than most everyone else.

I have thought of this recently! When it comes to the self-sufficient living, the Amish got-it-goin'-on!
